Polymer Clay GYOZA Tutorial!! :3 by claymasey98 Polymer Clay GYOZA Tutorial!! :3 by claymasey98
Yay! I've been meaning to get this up!

I learned how to make gyoza for real a few weeks ago... they are the LOVE of my life (after Japan). :iconkittyglompplz:

I wanted to make a tutorial after seeing :iconaya-no-shrink-ray:'s "Tiny Gyoza or Giant Chopsticks?" [link]

If you don't know what gyoza are, here's a little history.

Gyoza are Japanese pan-fried (unique in this way) pork dumplings. They are made with special gyoza wrappers. The wrappers are filled with a pork/Chinese cabbage mixture and pleated. Then they're fried in a pan with sesame oil and served piping hot.

They taste SO GOOD!! :iconfeelingfreeplz:

They sound a bit like Mexican empanadas

Haha, never had one. I've been told these resemble tacos lol but they're closed up dumplings. What is an empanada?

Here's the definition straight up from wikipedia: An empanada is a stuffed bread or pastry baked or fried in many countries in Southern Europe, Latin America, and parts of Southeast Asia

I described them in the description a bit. They are traditional pan fried pork dumplings fom Japan and are unique becuse they are pleated to seal and pan fried not boiled. They are very good!!!
